The Spirit of Southeast Texas Chorus has an interesting history. In 1982, the Greater Sabine Chorus was founded. They went on to win many awards at Regional contests. In the early 2000's, the Spindletop Sound Chorus was founded.
In 2007, the two choruses merged to form a stronger, larger chorus - the Spirit of Southeast Texas. It worked because in 2009 the chorus won 1st place Small Chorus in Region 10, and then competed at Sweet Adelines International Competition in 2010 in Seattle, WA, where they placed 5th in Small Chorus division - that's 5th place IN THE WORLD in the SMALL CHORUS division!
Spirit is always looking for women who want to learn the art of barbershop singing!
